Prague Family Rural Health Clinic is owned and operated by Prague Community Hospial. The clinic is staffed by Dr. Steffan Carey, D.O. and Mary Ann Ward, PA-C.
Dr. Steffan Carey, DO
Please welcome Steffan Carey, DO as he joins us in late July of 2014. Dr. Carey is currently finishing his training in Family Medicine at OSU-CHS in Tulsa where he is the current Chief Resident. Dr. Carey is from small town Oklahoma. He graduated from El Reno High School in 2002. His undergraduate work was completed at OSU Stillwater in 2007 with a degree in human development and family sciences. His wife Amanda is also a resident in Tulsa and Prague hospital hopes to recruit her to join the team as well upon completion of her training. Dr. Carey (Amanda) is from Cushing, so she is also an Oklahoma Native. She graduated from Cushing High School. Her undergraduate work was completed at UCO in biology and has two years of family medicine residency left. They both love to travel but most of all they enjoy spending time with each other and their families. Dr. Carey’s main hobbies are playing the guitar and drums, being outside as well as gardening. They both want to practice in small towns in Oklahoma.
Mary Ann Ward, PA-C
Mary Ann provides care for emergency room patients Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on a full time basis and also sees patients in the Prague Family Clinic. She is practicing under the supervision of Dr. Carey.
Mary Ann graduated from Paden High School in 2000. She is the daughter of Charles and Darlene Cook of Paden, and is married to Shannon Ward, formerly of Prague. She completed her Physician Assistant Program at the University of Oklahoma in November 2007 and received her certification in December. She was a member of the honor society in her undergraduate program. She is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Life Support. She is a member of the OK Association of Physician Assistants, and the American Association of Physician Assistants.
Cameron Henderson, MD
Dr. Henderson has found a home and will be moving to Prague this month. He is enjoying being out of school for the first time since starting first grade. Dr. Henderson reports not having any specific hobby, but is just enjoying his life out of school for now. Dr. Henderson has been asked numerous times about his plentiful locks of hair. He will be donating his hair when reaches the minimum length of 10 – 12 inches to Wigs for Kids or the Locks for Love program. These programs are non-profit organizations that provide hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States under age 21. The hairpieces are for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, burns, or any other medical issues at no cost to the child or their families.
